The Leida Uretsky HAZAK auxiliary at Congregation Anshai Torah (CAT) is not a group of old fogies or Alta Schmatters just sitting around kvetching, comparing medications, doctors and ailments. We are mishpucha, an extended family of mature singles and married couples (55+) whose primary goal is to enjoy friendship, have fun, learn, kibitz, schmooze, play and pray together, and we can prove it.

Join us! Have fun!  We are 100+ strong, but we need you to get stronger to maintain our koyach (strength) to continue contributing to our synagogue!

Hazak’s prior contributions to Anshai Torah have included the stair-railing on the Bimah, outdoor lighting, bulletin board outside the administration offices, a new sound mixer for the sanctuary, two mixers for the new kitchen and an oven for the old kitchen. Hazak was instrumental in setting up the Past Presidents’ Picture Wall and supports such programs as Scholar-in-Residence and Wolfstein Deli lunches for Plano West junior and seniors, as well as, our annual production and sponsorship of Hazak Shabbat.

Pay your annual dues of $20 per person and attend Hazak’s Annual Paid-Up Membership Dinner including entertainment for FREE!

Many families are saying Kaddish either due to a recent loss or annual remembrance. As YOU need the support of 9 others when it’s YOUR time to say Kaddish, it is OUR priviledge and obligation to support others with regular Minyan attendance. Send an email to with the date and whether you will attend the morning or evening service. We will be there for YOU!

Do you know a member who is recovering from an illness? Please contact Lois Kohn to have a get-well card sent from Hazak. Also, please inform Risa Diamond if you know of someone who is in the hospital or recuperating and would like some company or a visit.

(All Activities Are In the Anshai Torah Social Hall, Unless Otherwise Indicated)
